Job summary

Niyaa People is seeking an experienced DFG Technical Officer to support a Damp, Mould, and Disrepair Service Team in Tamworth. The role is on-site with frequent travel to sites and a 6‑month contract. The hourly rate is £30–£35 via Umbrella, with mileage of 0.45p from office to sites.

You will produce CAD designs for adaptations, manage projects from survey to completion, liaise with customers and therapists, and assist with procurement and contractor management.

Qualifications

• Significant demonstrable surveying experience in housing associations, private practice, local authority or similar.
• Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload while maintaining quality and compliance.
• Contract administration and project monitoring experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive and motivated DFG Technical Officer to join a leading Property Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide operational support to the Damp, Mould, and Disrepair Service Team.

You will be based on site with frequent travel around Tamworth!

DFG Technical Officer

6 month contract

£30-£35 per hour via Umbrella

0.45p mileage from office to sites

DFG Technical Officer duties:

• Produce designs and specifications for adaptations, including ramps, level access showers and more complex adaptation schemes using CAD.
• Manage projects from survey through to practical completion.
• Work at pace whilst maintaining a high degree of accuracy and quality.
• Liaise with customers, Occupational Therapists, and contractors.
• Undertake contract administration and project monitoring.
• Support procurement, tendering and contractor management activities where required.

To succeed as the DFG Technical Officer, you need:

• Ability to manage a high‑volume caseload whilst maintaining quality and compliance.
• Knowledge of Schedule of Rates and adaptation costing.
• Significant demonstrable experience in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar
• Contract administration and project management experience are highly desirable.
