Job summary

A leading UK recruitment agency is seeking a qualified DevOps Consultant to support the automation and improvement of AWS-based systems in a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with AWS technologies such as EC2 and Lambda, as well as backend development knowledge in Python or Java. Strong skills in Docker, Kubernetes, and integration of third-party tools are essential. The role requires a blend of software engineering and cloud infrastructure expertise with flexibility for remote work.

Qualifications

• Experience working with AWS technologies and strong understanding of automation.

• Proficiency in backend development using Python and/or Java.

DevOps Consultant

Location: London or Manchester (Hybrid – 2 Days On-Site Weekly Average)

Salary: £100,000 - £120,000

We are looking for a DevOps Consultant with a blend of software engineering, cloud, and infrastructure experience. You’ll support the build, improvement, and automation of our AWS‑based systems, working across development, operations, and cloud platforms.

Due to the nature of this role, it is highly desirable that the successful candidate hold DV clearance.

Experience Required

• AWS technologies including EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS and CDK
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Cloud networking and security best practice
• Backend development with Python and/or Java
• Infrastructure‑as‑code and automation scripting
• SQL and relational databases
• Integrating third‑party software and tooling

Desirable

• Experience building web user interfaces
• Exposure to National Security environments
