Job summary

A construction management firm is seeking a Development Project Manager (Interim) to lead new build schemes based in Leeds. This role involves managing project budgets, cashflows, and coordinating with client project teams. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in construction project management, demonstrable success in meeting targets, and a thorough understanding of the planning system. This is a full-time, 6-month temporary contract with an immediate start.

Role Purpose

Effectively deliver multiple New Build Schemes on time, in budget and to the requisite quality standards and specification.

Act as client representative for assigned schemes and lead the client project team.

Act as budget holder for assigned new build schemes, manage scheme cashflows and provide accurate forecasting of key development milestones for the benefit of the wider development team and business.

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience in project management and development of construction projects.
  • Significant success in meeting performance targets and contributing to continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Proven track record in a development department of a housing or construction organisation.
  • Capable of delivering results to tight deadlines and under pressure.
  • Experience of successfully working on several projects at the same time.
  • Well-developed understanding of operational services delivery within a large organisation.
  • Experience of managing project budgets.
  • Proven track record of cashflow management.
  • Understanding and experience of the planning system and Building Regulations.
  • Experience of writing clear and concise reports.
  • Experience of delivering affordable housing schemes.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the strategic aims of the organisation together with the broader issues of social housing.
  • Experience of procuring contracts and services whilst providing value for money.
