Design & Technology Teacher for Secondary Schools & Colleges (Full-Time or Flexible)

Start Date: January
Locations: Secondary Schools and Colleges across South Wales
Rate of Pay: 173 per day

We're looking for a dynamic and skilled Design & Technology Teacher to work across a range of Secondary Schools and Colleges in South Wales. With flexible and full-time positions available, this role offers the chance to teach in diverse environments while shaping learners' practical and technical skills.

About the Role

As a DT Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons across disciplines such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, Electronics, Engineering, or Food Technology (depending on your specialism). You'll help learners develop creativity, precision, and resilience through hands‑on projects and technical problem‑solving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach inspiring DT lessons across KS3–KS5
  • Prepare, deliver, and assess practical and theory-based learning
  • Maintain safe working practices within workshops and classrooms
  • Support learners in building technical skills, confidence, and creativity
  • Work collaboratively with wider departments to support curriculum delivery
  • Uphold behaviour policies and encourage a positive learning environment
  • Contribute to whole-school DT and STEM initiatives where required
What We're Looking For
  • A passion for Design & Technology and hands‑on learning
  • Ability to teach across multiple DT disciplines (specialisms welcome)
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • Practical understanding of safe working practices (workshop/food room)
  • Adaptability to work across various school and college settings
Requirements for Registration
  • Relevant DT/Engineering/Food specialism degree or teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, PCET)
  • Industry experience within a design, engineering, construction, or manufacturing setting (advantageous)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Two professional references covering the last 2 years
