Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Welham Green. You will produce temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework, reporting to a Design Team Leader.

The role suits an engineer with a few years post-graduate experience in structures or geotechnical design and a sound understanding of temporary works. You will collaborate with sales and operations to support customers with engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in designing temporary works for groundworks and building refurbishment propping.
• Degree or HND in civil/structural engineering with relevant design exposure.
• Familiarity with CDM 2015 requirements and drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Experience of designing temporary works for groundworks and/or building refurbishment propping (e.g geotechnical design of sheet pile cofferdams and/or propping and needling).
• Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and eventually other product schemes.
• Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2019
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
• Review design briefs provided by the sales team through Launchpad and provide feedback if more information is required.
• Managing your own workload; Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.
