Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team in the UK. You will produce temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework, reporting to a Design Team Leader.

The role suits an engineer with a few years postgraduate experience in structures or geotechnical design and a solid understanding of temporary works. We offer a competitive salary, a company bonus, excellent health and wellbeing packages, and a strong pension scheme.

Qualifications

Degree or HND in civil/structural engineering.
Experience designing temporary works and formwork & falsework.
Understanding of CDM 2015 is essential.

Responsibilities

Experience of designing temporary works for groundworks and/or building refurbishment propping (e.g. geotechnical design of sheet pile cofferdams and/or propping and needling).
Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and eventually other product schemes.
Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2019.
Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
Review design briefs provided by the sales team through Launchpad and provide feedback if more information is required.
Managing your own workload and contributing to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.
