Job summary

Mabey Hire in the United Kingdom is seeking a Design Engineer to join our engineering team. Reporting to the Design Team Leader, you will produce temporary works designs for excavation support, propping, formwork and falsework, with a focus on safety and compliance.

The role suits an engineer with a few years post graduate experience in structures or geotechnical design, capable of working in a fast-paced environment and collaborating with sales and site teams to deliver engineered solutions.

Qualifications

• HND or degree in civil/structural engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience designing temporary works.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Experience designing Formwork & Falsework.
• Good understanding of CDM 2015.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2D and/or REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Design temporary works for groundworks and/or building refurbishment propping (e.g geotechnical design of sheet pile cofferdams and/or propping and needling).
• Prepare temporary works designs for groundworks and eventually other product schemes.
• Checking designs and drawing in accordance with BS5975:2019.
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits.
• Review design briefs provided by the sales team through Launchpad and provide feedback if more information is required.
• Managing your own workload § Contribute to continuous improvement projects as agreed by the Engineering Director.
