Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dermatology team. team in Winchester. We are looking for a nurse to run our biologics service supporting patients with long term conditions. experience is preferred but training is provided and we would be happy to talk a development role.

Main duties of the job
  • To take responsibility for the nurse led service for patient receiving systemic medication for patient with a chronic skin condition (training provided)
  • To deliver the range of services for patients with a range of dermatological conditions (training provided)
  • To have knowledge to be able to tailor plans to respond to individual need
  • To be able to formulate evidence-based protocols to promote optimal patient outcomes
  • To be aware of National Guidance pertaining to maintaining a safe working environment and adhere to guidance relating to the use of safety equipment and safe maintenance of all equipment e.g., medical physics
  • To teach and support peers and junior colleagues
  • To lead / participate in audit and patient questionnaires
  • To assess, plan, implement and evaluate care of patients throughout treatment to discharge
  • To deliver high quality, evidence-based practice in all aspects of nursing care
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in service development
  • To ensure that all written documentation and record keeping meets the standards set by the Trust and Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code
  • To act at all times in accordance with the standards set by the NMC and to maintain your professional registration

  • Diploma or Degree level education or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study, or employment experience
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching or mentorship qualification

  • Experience on various chronic dermatology conditions
  • Experience of working in dermatology, either with in patients or in an outpatient setting
Desirable criteria
  • Involvement in project team for developing and implementing departmental business plans and / or organisation wide developments
  • Experience in undertaking audit

  • Able to demonstrate a good command of the English language both written and verbal
