Overview

Bishopsgate Institute is looking for a Deputy Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly team as we welcome visitors, customers and venue clients to our busy and dynamic building.

Responsibilities
  • Deputise for the Operations Manager across all on-site operations, including planning for successful event delivery.
  • Key holder, on-call to attend if required out of hours, liaise with the Infrastructure & Facilities Manager.
  • Act as the Institute’s Data Protection Officer, ensuring personal data is protected and stored correctly across electronic and hard copies.
  • Manage Duty Managers and Event Technicians, including rota planning and adjustment.
  • Line‑manage the Visitor Experience Team Lead to confirm sufficient staffing week to week.
  • Cover Duty Manager shifts or breaks, possibly at short notice; unlock or lock the building as required.
  • Full‑time role across all seven days the Institute operates, including evenings and weekends; fully on site with flexible working requests.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Proactive, flexible, can‑do attitude; experienced and confident in box office, reception and venue management.
  • Risk assessment, high quality events delivery, customer service, health and safety, data protection.
  • Experience working across multiple strands of work, including short‑term tasks and medium‑term project work.
