Qualifications

Job description

We’re looking for a Deputy Manager (Afterschool Lead) to join our Little Larks team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and thrives in a positive, team-based environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the club.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all children.
  • Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate activities that promote learning through play.
  • Supervise and support staff, maintaining good teamwork and communication.
  • Take responsibility for the setting in the Manager’s absence.
  • Promote children’s wellbeing, confidence and development through play.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years working in childcare, teaching, or a similar setting (required).
  • Childcare qualification at Level 5 (preferred), candidates with Level 3 will be considered and fully supported to complete Level 5 training.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willing to complete Paediatric First Aid, Child Protection (6-hour course), and Health & Safety training upon hire.
  • Experience as a Deputy or Team Leader in a childcare or play setting.
  • Training in SEN, behaviour management.
  • Experience with rotas, records, and daily communication with parents.
  • Keen to develop professionally and help improve the quality of the setting.
Further Information

Afterschool Club: Monday to Friday, 2:00pm - 6:00pm. Optional Breakfast Club: 7:30am - 9:00am.
