Northern is recruiting for an Engineering lead at Shipley TrainCare Centre. You will coordinate the depot's maintenance and servicing tasks, ensuring trains leave the depot safe, reliable and ready for service.

You’ll work with the Shift Production Manager to deliver the plan, uphold high safety standards and drive continuous improvement. The role emphasizes leadership, decision-making on the shop floor, and a proactive approach to coaching and developing team members.

Formación

• Experience in maintenance, repair or overhaul of heavy equipment or machinery.
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities.
• Clear communication and decision-making under pressure.
• COSHH and safety procedures knowledge to maintain high standards.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate and supervise teams performing maintenance, repair, cleaning and servicing of trains.
• Plan and allocate work to meet targets and keep operations running smoothly.
• Ensure work is completed safely and to required standards.
• Act as Depot Protection PIC for yard movements when required.
• Support Shift Production Manager to run shifts and improve processes.
• Lead daily briefings and ensure teams stay informed and aligned.
