Job summary

First Bus in Rochdale is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the engineering team at the Rochdale Depot and oversee the workshop operations to keep the fleet available in a safe and compliant manner.

You will drive continuous improvement, manage budgets, and coordinate subcontractors while maintaining strong cross-functional communication with senior management and delivering training and development for the team.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Proven leadership and team development skills.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance legislation (VOSA, MOT, safety inspections).
• Proficient with SAP and MS Office.
• Good IT and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the engineering team at Rochdale Depot.
• Oversee depot and workshop operations and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, environmental and engineering standards.
• Drive continuous improvement and cost control.
