Job summary

Wolseley’s Plumb Centre in Rochdale is seeking a Delivery Driver 3.5t. You will perform multi‑drop deliveries to local customers, load and unload stock, and act as the face of the brand in the field.

You will also support warehouse tasks, maintain safety checks, and contribute to a smooth branch operation. A full UK manual driving licence and some 3.5t experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence required.
• Experience driving 3.5t multi-drop deliveries is advantageous.
• Familiar with handheld PDAs.
• Prior warehouse experience preferred.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5t van delivering to customers within ~50 miles of the Rochdale branch, handling heavy stock.
• Build and maintain excellent customer relationships as a brand ambassador.
• Ensure health and safety checks daily on vehicle, equipment and load; report defects.
• Load and unload deliveries as required.
• Assist in warehouse duties: unload stock, pick & pack orders, stock checks, tidy work area.

Job Title & Location

Delivery Driver 3.5t - Rochdale (OL11 1NS) - Plumb Centre

About the role

As a 3.5t Delivery Driver based in Rochdale, you'll be responsible for:

• Driving a 3.5t van carrying out multi-drop deliveries to our customers within a 50 mile radius of the branch (This will involve manual handling heavy stock e.g. boilers, radiators, sinks, and toilets)


• Building and maintaining excellent relationships with customers ensuring you are a positive ambassador of the brand


• Ensuring all aspects of Health and Safety are adhered to, carrying out a daily check on the vehicle, equipment, and load for which you have responsibility and reporting any defects


• Loading and unloading deliveries where required


• When you are not out on deliveries you will be assisting in the warehouse with duties including unloading incoming stock, picking & packing orders, stock checks, and general tidying

Requirements

• Full UK Manual Driving Licence is essential


• Previous 3.5t multidrop driving is advantageous


• To be familiar with using a handheld PDA


• Prior warehouse experience is preferred


• To be a team player who is happy to assist in all areas to ensure the smooth running of the branch


• Eagerness to learn, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude and a strong work ethic

Salary

£26,695 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Position Details

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00am - 5.00pm and 1 in 3 Saturday's 08.00am - 12.00pm.
