Job summary

Butler Rose Ltd is seeking a Dealership Accountant in Birmingham to join a market-leading dealership. You will report to the Financial Controller, producing monthly management accounts, budgets, forecasts, and KPI reporting while partnering with operational teams to drive financial performance.

The role requires a fully qualified accountant (or studying toward qualification within 12 months) with strong management reporting and a proactive, commercially minded approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) or actively studying with a view to be Qualified within 12 months.
• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
• Strong management reporting and financial analysis skills.
• Previous experience within the Motor-trade sector
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Commercially focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed commentary and variance analysis.
• Produce accurate budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
• Business partner with operational and departmental managers to support financial performance.
• Analyse revenue, margins, costs, and key business drivers.
• Support month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Deliver insightful KPI reporting to senior management.
• Assist with statutory audits and compliance requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced financial controls.
• Support strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to aid business decision-making.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will play a pivotal role in providing accurate financial information, business partnering with operational teams, and supporting decision-making.
