Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is seeking a skilled Management Accountant for a well-established automotive dealer in Sidcup. You will deliver monthly management accounts, KPI insights and drive financial decisions alongside Directors and operations teams.

The role emphasizes budgeting, forecasting, working capital management and reporting accuracy, with a view to continuous improvement within a growing automotive business. Hybrid/home-flex options exist after probation.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or similar role in motor trade preferred.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills.
• Experience with VAT returns, bank reconciliations and management reporting.
• Solid Excel skills and familiarity with dealership financials.
• Ability to operate with accuracy under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, KPI reports and financial information.
• Monitor expenditure vs budgets and investigate variances.
• Forecast weekly, quarterly and ad hoc cash flow and profit.
• Support working capital planning, vehicle funding and cash flow.
• Reconcile nominal ledgers, debtors/creditors and control accounts.
• Liaise with auditors and provide financial recommendations at meetings.

We are recruiting a Management Accountant on behalf of a well-established, family-run prestige and luxury car dealership in Sidcup, Kent. With over 40 years of automotive experience and an excellent reputation across the UK and international markets, this is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to support continued business growth.

This Management Accountant opportunity offers a commercially focused finance professional the chance to work closely with Directors, site management and operational teams, providing accurate financial insight and supporting key business decisions.

• Salary up to £55,000 per annum, depending on experience

• 37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday

• Potential for one day per week working from home following successful completion of probation

Duties

• As Management Accountant, prepare monthly management accounts, financial information and KPI reports
• Monitor expenditure and performance against budgets, investigating variances
• Prepare weekly, quarterly and ad hoc profit and cash flow forecasts
• Support working capital management, vehicle funding arrangements and cash flow planning
• Manage VAT returns, NOVA submissions and bank reconciliations
• Reconcile nominal ledger, debtor, creditor and control accounts
• Maintain accurate prepayment, accrual and fixed asset records
• Analyse vehicle stock, margins and associated costs
• Assist with budgets, forecasts and statutory year-end accounts
• Liaise with external auditors and maintain supporting schedules
• Attend management meetings and provide clear financial recommendations
• Identify opportunities to improve procedures, internal controls and reporting systems

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant, Motor Trade Accountant or Assistant Accountant
• A minimum of two years' Motor Trade experience is preferred
• Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
• Excellent reconciliation, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis skills
• Knowledge of working capital management, vehicle stock accounting and margin analysis
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet strict deadlines
• Clear communication skills and confidence explaining financial information
• Experience with an automotive Dealer Management System is advantageous
• Familiarity with Xero or Sage is beneficial
