Job summary

Pavilion Recruitment Solutions is seeking a DC Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of defined contribution pension administration, in collaboration with an outsourced provider and the operations team. The role offers ownership of operational delivery, stakeholder relationships, team leadership, and ongoing process and service improvements, with focus on compliance and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operational delivery of DC pension administration.
• Work closely with the outsourced DC administration provider, ensuring service standards, procedures and SLAs are met.
• Support senior management with DC service delivery, business planning and wider strategy implementation.
• Manage complex casework, investigating and resolving administration errors and issues.
• Manage system, process, regression, calculation and member communication testing.
• Lead and support projects relating to pensions administration and operational improvements.
• Prepare and contribute to Board and Committee papers, reports and presentations.
• Manage relationships with external suppliers, advisers and key stakeholders.
• Oversee complaints, risks, service failures and error rectification, ensuring appropriate escalation where required.
• Lead and manage members of the team, including performance management, coaching, mentoring and training.
• Plan and prioritise the team's workload to ensure deadlines and service standards are consistently achieved.Review and improve operational processes, ensuring best practice is followed and procedures remain effective.
• Support other Operations Managers and wider business areas when required.

Job description

We are seeking a DC Operations Manager to join a leading pensions organisation. This role is responsible for overseeing the smooth running of the organisation's defined contribution pension arrangements, working closely with an outsourced DC administration provider and supporting the wider operations team.

The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of operational delivery, manage stakeholder and supplier relationships, lead a team, and contribute to ongoing process and service improvements.

Experience & Skills Required:

• Strong experience within pensions administration, with good knowledge of Defined Contribution arrangements.
• Experience managing external suppliers, administrators or client relationships.
• Experience of analysing, managing and resolving pension administration errors and issues.
• Previous team leadership or people management experience, including coaching and development.Strong understanding of pensions administration systems and processes.
• Excellent organisational and workload-planning skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
• Experience of process improvement, testing and/or operational change.
• Good understanding of pensions legislation, regulation and the implications of non-compliance.
• Ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders and contribute to Board or Committee-level reporting.
• Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience would be desirable.
• 5+ years' relevant pensions industry experience would be desirable.
