Job Type: Relief/Temporary
Salary: £15-£17/h (depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting an experienced and compassionate Relief Chef/Cook to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a variety of well-established and rewarding environments across Norfolk and Suffolk, including care homes, schools, event venues, and contract catering settings.

As a Relief Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, particularly for residents in care settings. You will cover a range of assignments, supporting our clients during periods of staff leave, illness, or increased business demand.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and cook meals in accordance with menus and specific dietary requirements
  • Ensure meals are presented to a high standard and served at appropriate temperatures
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen and food preparation areas
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders as required
  • Collaborate with care or site staff to ensure residentsustomers’ dietary needs are met
  • Modify meals for special events or celebrations when necessary
  • Adhere to food safety standards and health and safety regulations at all times
  • Support the kitchen team during busy periods, ensuring smooth service delivery
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Chef or Cook, ideally within care homes, healthcare, or catering environments
  • A good understanding of nutritional needs, particularly for elderly or vulnerable individuals
  • Enhanced DBS certificate (Essential)
  • Ability to quickly adapt to different kitchen settings and regulations
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred due to travel between sites)
