VWFS UK is seeking a knowledgeable Data Protection Specialist to join our Legal & Compliance team. You will advise on UK data protection laws, support the DPO, manage DPIAs, DPIA-related activities, DSARs, and breaches, and drive improvements across the function.

You will collaborate with business units, regulators, and senior leaders to ensure compliant operations and robust risk management, while fostering a culture of privacy by design and continuous improvement.

Competenze

• Experience providing data protection advice within Compliance/Legal at a specialist level.
• Strong knowledge of ICO guidance and regulatory expectations in consumer credit or retail banking.
• Ability to manage complex, time-sensitive workloads with precision and professionalism.
• Skilled at researching, analysing, interpreting and presenting regulatory information.
• Comfortable challenging views and interpreting regulatory guidance with accuracy and proportionality.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to influence and negotiate.

Mansioni

• Provide expert guidance on UK Data Protection laws and regulatory changes.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Lead assessment, oversight, and reporting of personal data breaches including MI reporting.
• Act as a key contact for DSARs, complaints and litigation matters related to data protection.
• Develop and execute second-line monitoring to assess compliance and drive improvements.
• Liaise with the ICO on complaints and regulatory inquiries, ensuring robust investigations.
• Collaborate with Legal & Compliance to resolve data protection issues.
• Drive continuous improvement in data protection compliance and efficiency.
