Job summary

VWFS UK is seeking a knowledgeable Data Protection Specialist to advise the business on UK data protection laws and regulatory changes. You will support the DPO, manage DPIAs, and oversee breach response, reporting, and regulator interactions.

You will collaborate with Legal & Compliance and other stakeholders to resolve privacy issues and drive continuous improvement within a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Proven data protection advisory experience within Compliance/Legal functions.
• Strong understanding of ICO guidance and regulatory expectations in consumer credit or retail banking.
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory information and present it clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on UK Data Protection laws and regulatory changes.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA) and assist with DPIAs.
• Lead data breach management, reporting, and MI to senior forums.
• Be a primary contact for DSARs, complaints and litigation matters related to data protection.
• Develop second-line monitoring to drive compliance improvements.
