Job summary

VWFS UK is seeking a knowledgeable Data Protection Specialist to support our Legal & Compliance team in the UK. You will advise on data protection laws, manage DPIAs, monitor data breaches, and liaise with the ICO to ensure regulatory compliance.

You will collaborate with business units, report to senior leaders, and drive continuous improvement in privacy governance, risk management, and incident responses.

Qualifications

• Experience providing data protection advice within Compliance or Legal functions.
• Strong understanding of ICO guidance, codes and regulatory expectations in consumer credit or retail banking.
• Ability to manage complex, time-sensitive workloads with precision and professionalism.
• Experience researching, analysing and interpreting regulatory information.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert guidance on UK Data Protection laws and regulatory changes.
• Maintain Registers of Processing Activities (ROPA).
• Assist with Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA).
• Lead assessment, oversight, and reporting of personal data breaches.
