Job summary

A prominent health organization in Cardiff is seeking a Data & Information Administrator to support research delivery and manage data queries. Qualifications

Data & Information Administrator

Funding provided by Health and Care Research Wales supports NHS Research and Delivery (R&D) Departments led by a R&D Director to provide local services for research support and facilitates the sponsoring and hosting of studies within UHB's across Wales. Part of this service includes a NHS research delivery team consisting of Research Nurses, Clinical Studies Officers, Research Officers and Administrators, employed by NHS organisations to support the delivery of high quality health and social care studies.

There is an excellent opportunity available at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. We are looking for a Data and Information Administrator to join our dedicated team within Research Delivery.

This post is fixed term until 31 January 2028 to cover the needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

As a Data and Information Administrator you will be responsible for liaising with research active medics and other Health Professionals and their teams providing training and support on both local and central portfolio management systems.

The role will involve being responsible for the generation of reports for the Director of R&D, Performance Lead and Clinical Boards whilst taking responsibility for designated areas of the local portfolio management system and troubleshooting where necessary. The role will involve communicating with UHB colleagues, Health & Care Research Wales (HCRW) Support and Delivery Centre and external agencies such as pharmaceutical companies, Contract Research Organisations and Sponsors.

The post holder will be the primary contact for data queries generated by HCRW Support and Delivery Centre and Sponsors and take responsibility for investigating and rectifying data anomalies.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
  • Qualified to A level/NVQ Level 3 standard or equivalent
  • Educated to a degree level in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge of current national systems and structures for the approval, management and monitoring of clinical research in the UK and specifically Wales
Experience
  • Experience of managing Information Systems, developing databases and spreadsheets
  • Experience of working on multiple parallel tasks to strict and often tight deadlines
  • Experience of using clinical research databases at a Wales and UK level
Skills
  • Numerate with advanced IT skills (MS Office-Access, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of professionals within the UHB, across Wales and the UK
  • Excellent demonstrable attention to detail
