Job summary

Axiom Technologies is seeking an on-site IT Support Technician to deliver hands-on hardware, network, and remote hands support in Edinburgh. You will coordinate with remote engineering teams to ensure high-quality service delivery and rapid issue resolution.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in data centers, a relevant IT degree, and experience with server hardware, storage systems, Ethernet/fiber cabling, and remote management tools (iDRAC/iLO/IPMI). On-call shifts are required.

Qualifications

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Electronics, or related field.
At least 2 years of experience in a data center or field support.
Knowledge of server hardware, storage systems, Ethernet and fiber cabling, and patch panels.
Experience with remote management tools (iDRAC, iLO, IPMI).
Good communication and teamwork skills; able to work in a physically demanding environment.

Responsibilities

Coordinate hardware & server support, install/upgrade components, perform diagnostics.
Set up and test network cabling, wireless access as needed, and patch panels.
Serve as on-site remote hands for offshore/remote engineers; report status and issues.
Manage backups/media tasks and tape libraries; resolve related issues.
Coordinate with vendors and facilities for rack moves, maintenance, and site surveys.
Document asset inventory, rack layouts, diagrams, and power/cooling documentation.
