Summary Description
Are you highly organised, analytical and passionate about data? Do you enjoy working with systems, spreadsheets and dashboards to create clear, accurate reporting? If you're skilled in Excel, have excellent attention to detail and are excited by the power of data, Derby Museums wants to hear from you!
The Role:
Derby Museums is at exciting cross-roads in our data journey. Having recently secured funding to move our teams over to Basecamp to support information flow, project management and reporting, we have ambitions to invest in a new CRM system and dashboard solution which will further streamline workflows, improve audience insights and reporting.
As our Data and Systems Manager, you will support and drive these changes, helping us to transform the way we collect, use and analyse data across the organisation, supporting business planning and helping us to evidence the impact of our work to funders, stakeholders and supporters.
As our in-house data and evaluation expert, you will also take a lead on reporting data through Illuminate, the Arts Council England commissioned Audience Data platform, help the teams to design surveys that help us to understand and evidence the impact of our exhibitions and programme and pull together our annual survey to help us evidence our impact and reach to Arts Council England.
Alongside all of this, you will have specific responsibility for leading on the use of our current CRM system Subscriber and for ensuring audience data is gathered and reported on across our sites.
You will be experienced in working with a wide range of people, highly organised with high levels of enthusiasm and commitment. You will be able to communicate confidently with stakeholders and able to translate business needs into data solutions. Experience of working in a similar role either at another museum, visitor attraction, charity or commercial organisation, experience of using tools like Power BI or Tableau and/or of implementing a new CRM system would be advantageous. You will be a solutions focussed team player who can respond to challenges whilst working efficiently to tight deadlines.
We believe that diversity and equality within our workplace, programmes, and in our outlook is crucial. We therefore particularly welcome applications from candidates that are under-represented at Derby Museums and within the heritage sector, including black and minority ethnic candidates and/or candidates with a disability.
Interviews will be held on Wednesday 18th November 2026 at the Museum of Making.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 11.59pm Wednesday 4th November 2026.
