Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils in a SEN School across Darlington. You will work with pupils aged 2-19 across Primary and Secondary groups, building relationships and delivering targeted support in a proactive, caring environment.

The role involves 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD and SEMH, with some pupils requiring personal care. UK experience and a DBS check are preferred, with Right to Work in the UK a must.

Formación

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired).
• Experience of working with Children in UK schools.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
• Hold Right to Work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one.
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years.

Responsabilidades

• Support pupils with varied SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Support pupils with SEN such as ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD and SEMH.
• Some pupils may be non-verbal and may require personal care; willingness to support is key.
• Work closely with Class Teachers and colleagues to adapt teaching to learning styles.

• The role is based in an inspirational SEN School across Darlington.
• The School supports pupils across the 2-19 age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all Primary and Secondary School year groups depending on your preference and specialism.
• The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

• Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2027. Temporary Contract.

About the Role:

• The role will involve supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• The School supports pupils with a range of SEN such as varying levels of ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD and SEMH
• Additionally, some pupils may be none-verbal and some may require Personal Care so a willingness to support pupils in these contexts is key.
• A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
• Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
• An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
• A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
