Prospero Teaching is seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to support learning at a SEN school in Gateshead. The role involves working with pupils aged 2–19, across Primary and Secondary, with various SEN needs.

Responsabilités

• Support pupils with varied SEN on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist pupils with conditions such as ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD and SEMH as required.
• Help pupils who are non-verbal or require personal care, while following individual learning needs.

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Gateshead to start ASAP on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

• The role is based in an inspirational SEN School in Gateshead.
• The School supports pupils across the 2-19 age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all Primary and Secondary School year groups depending on your preference and specialism.
• The School has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, where staff work as a Team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.

Pay, Hours and Contract:

• Pay – Between GBP93-115 per day
• Hours –
• Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2027. Temporary Contract.

About the Role:

• The role will involve supporting pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour on both a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• The School supports pupils with a range of SEN such as varying levels of ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD and SEMH
• Additionally, some pupils may be none-verbal and some may require Personal Care so a willingness to support pupils in these contexts is key.
• A key part of the role will be to develop an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of different pupils within the classroom, working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues to establish this.

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:

• A Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
• Experience of working with Children in Schools in the UK
• An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff.
• A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
