Job summary

GAC UK is seeking an Operations Coordinator - Customs in Teesside to join our global shipping and logistics team. You will coordinate import and export movements, prepare accurate declarations and documentation, and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company procedures.

You will be the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, carriers and customs authorities, maintain records and invoices, monitor shipments and help drive continuous improvements across customs and logistics

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in customs clearance
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to produce and maintain accurate documents
• Ability to prioritise workloads, solve problems and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Competent user of Microsoft Office
• Previous experience using customs software ASM Sequoia is preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the timely and efficient movement of import and export freight by preparing accurate import and export declarations
• Prepare and manage customs and shipping documentation, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations and company procedures
• Act as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers, carriers and customs authorities
• Maintain accurate records, costings and invoicing information while supporting the smooth movement of freight
• Monitor shipment progress, resolve customs-related issues and provide updates to customers and internal stakeholders
• Build strong working relationships and contribute to continuous improvement across customs and logistics operations
