Job summary

Quanex is seeking a Customer Service Representative to deliver timely information on orders, coordinate shipping, and support sales activities. The role requires strong written and verbal communication, and proficiency with Word and Excel to handle quotations and inquiries.

You will work in a self-directed, efficient environment, utilizing multiple systems across sites to service customers and contribute to SOX processes and forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Provides timely information on orders, deliveries, lead times and freight coordination.
• Proactively contacts customers to adjust manufacturing and shipping schedules.
• Communicates changes clearly to customers and updates as needed.
• Supports order entry and resolves customer concerns about quantities, schedules, specs, part numbers, expedited orders.
• Creates customer quotations using pricing logic from marketing.
• Assists with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance processes.
• Gathers information from customers about non-conforming products and coordinates with internal teams to resolve.
• Assists the sales team in developing sales forecasts.
• Coordinates and communicates sales/customer service plans with other personnel to ensure team alignment.
