Job summary

South Tyneside Council is seeking a part-time Customer Service Advisor (25 hpw) based at the Town Hall, South Shields. You will be the first point of contact, delivering high-quality assistance to customers and resolving enquiries in a face-to-face setting.

The role requires handling sensitive situations and dealing with vulnerable customers. The salary is £29,542 per annum pro rata, with a strong benefits package and no skilled worker visa sponsorship. Closing date: 28 October 2026.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 10.00 am – 3.00 pm

You will provide an excellent customer focused service by delivering consistently high quality assistance to our customers by answering and resolving their enquiries as the first point of contact and dealing with their requests for service efficiently and effectively.

This role is face to face based at the customer reception at the Town Hall, South Shields, where you could be dealing with vulnerable customers and sensitive situations.
