Job summary

Arnold Clark in Livingston is seeking a Service Advisor to deliver an outstanding experience for customers at our Vauxhall branch. The role covers service coordination and repairs, liaising with the workshop, and ensuring smooth job progression.

The ideal candidate has customer service experience in a busy environment, a friendly and professional manner, and a full UK driving licence. This is a full-time role with hours Mon-Fri 8:00–17:30 and alternating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer service ethic and ability to resolve issues promptly.
• Strong IT literacy and familiarity with workshop IT systems.
• Able to multi-task in a busy service environment.
• Clear communicative skills to explain repairs and options.
• Good organisational skills to manage customer records and appointments.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to follow defined processes and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Handle customer requirements for service and vehicle repairs efficiently.
• Liaise with workshop and bodyshop to progress work through the system.
• Manage computer-based jobs, purchasing and invoicing to protect customer and company interests.
• Inform customers of faults or repairs with clear, accurate explanations.
• Support positive outcomes and handle dissatisfied customers with empathy.
• Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records and service histories.
• Upsell where appropriate with knowledge of products and services.
• Update and maintain the customer database accurately.
