Job summary

Tesco Reading West Extra is seeking a Customer Delivery Driver to meet customers at their homes and deliver great service with a smile. The role is hands-on, physical and varied, with independent shifts and a supportive Tesco team.

You will load the van safely, deliver within the customer time slot and handle orders with care. Pay starts at £14.18 per hour and rises to £15.45 in stores within the M25, with a guaranteed minimum 16 hours per week and flexible working.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months, with no more than 3 penalty points.
• Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues to deliver great service.
• Be warm and welcoming with customers and colleagues.
• Respond quickly to changing customer needs while on the road and in the store.
• Capable of loading the van safely and completing checks for roadworthiness.

Responsibilities

• Keeping your van, trays, and work area clean, tidy, and organised to ensure accurate deliveries.
• Loading the van safely and performing checks to ensure reliability for deliveries.
• Explaining order changes or substitutions calmly and handling refunds when needed to keep the experience smooth.
• Handling products with care and maintaining order quality and customer trust.
• Delivering within the customer’s time slot with friendly doorstep service.
