Job summary

Lyreco Group in Telford is seeking a Credit Controller to join our Finance team. You will manage an assigned customer portfolio, proactively collect overdue balances, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve queries and minimise bad debt.

The role emphasises building relationships, hitting KPIs, and maintaining records. Experience in credit control and strong Excel/Word skills are valued, with CICM qualification advantageous but not essential.

• Previous credit control experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good negotiation skills and the confidence to have effective conversations with customers.
• Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Good analytical and numerical skills.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.
• A positive, self-motivated approach and a willingness to work as part of a team.
• The ability to build strong relationships with both customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Managing an assigned portfolio of customer accounts and proactively collecting overdue balances.
• Making outbound contact with customers and working towards agreed targets and KPIs.
• Building positive relationships with customers and understanding any issues preventing payment.
• Working with internal teams to help resolve service or account queries quickly and effectively.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of collection activity.
• Working closely with the Sales team to support effective account management.
• Helping to minimise bad debt and improve collection performance.
