Job summary

hireful is seeking a Credit Controller to strengthen the credit control function and support cash flow through effective debt collection and customer relationship management. You will engage with clients to secure timely payments, maintain accurate records, and escalate issues where necessary to protect company working capital.

The role emphasizes strong communication, organisational skills, and a proactive approach within a dynamic finance team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in credit control/cash collection.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and finance systems such as IBCOS.
• Excellent telephone manner.
• Team player with a proactive positive attitude and strong organisational skills.
• Systematic approach with an eye for detail.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and escalate when needed.

Responsibilities

• Open new accounts and manage day-to-day of your customer base.
• Build and maintain internal and external relationships at all levels.
• Follow up on invoices to obtain payment of overdue debts.
• Coordinate payments for cash collection and reduce aged debt.
• Resolve queries around outstanding invoices with stakeholders.
• Negotiate repayment plans and escalate when necessary.
• Escalate payment issues to the Credit Control Manager and external agencies when required.
• Maintain accurate customer records and log queries.
• Manage credit limits within authorised guidelines.
