Job summary

Bristow & Sutor is seeking an organised, proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance team on a fixed-term maternity cover from 1 January 2027 to 28 April 2028. You will manage day-to-day customer accounts, ensure payments are collected in line with credit terms, and support cash flow.

The ideal candidate will have credit control or sales ledger experience, with strong communication and negotiation skills. Sage 200 experience is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Credit Control or Sales Ledger role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while supporting the finance team.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day sales ledger and ensure accounts are up to date.
• Pursue outstanding invoices via telephone and email.
• Review aged debt reports and minimise overdue balances.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle invoice and payment disputes with internal departments.
• Allocate and process customer payments with accounts payable.
• Monitor credit limits and payment terms; escalate risks.
• Support month-end procedures and related finance admin.
