Job summary

Rotherwood Recruitment in Burnley seeks an experienced Credit Controller on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave. Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:45am-5:15pm; Friday, 8:45am-2:45pm* Reporting to the Credit Control Manager, you’ll help manage outstanding payments, process credit checks and maintain accurate customer accounts.

This varied role suits someone with credit control or debt recovery experience who enjoys customer contact and working within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control or debt recovery.
• Office experience in a credit or accounts department.
• Strong communication and professional telephone manner.
• Good numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Ability to organise workload and prioritise tasks.
• GCSE English and Maths at grade C or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Contact customers about overdue balances and failed payments.
• Process customer applications and credit checks.
• Monitor credit limits and account exposure.
• Handle account amendments and changes to customer details.
• Resolve customer queries and maintain accurate records.
• Liaise with sales team regarding customer accounts.
• Work with credit insurance brokers and rating agencies.
• Support escalation of overdue accounts with payment plans.
• Assist with general administration within the credit control team.
