Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract in Stafford. The role offers a pro rata salary of £30,000 per annum and a fully office-based arrangement.

You will chase outstanding debt by phone and email, reconcile accounts, resolve invoice disputes, and maintain accurate collection notes, supporting cash flow improvements and collaboration with internal teams. Hours are Mon-Thu 7:30am–4:30pm and Fri 7:30am–3:30pm.

Qualifications

• Experience in Credit Control or Accounts Receivable.
• Proven track record of reducing aged debt and improving cash collection.
• Confident communicating with customers over the phone.
• Strong reconciliation and account investigation skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Proactive, persistent and able to manage your own workload.
• Good Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Proactively chase outstanding debt via telephone and email.
• Manage and prioritise aged debt across multiple customer accounts.
• Build strong working relationships with customers and internal teams.
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries, disputes and payment issues.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Allocate cash receipts and obtain remittance advice.
• Maintain accurate collection notes and payment commitments.
• Escalate overdue balances and unresolved issues when required.
• Support the management of complex and historic debt balances.
