Job summary

Wilsons Auctions Ltd is seeking a Credit Controller to join our Head Office finance team in Belfast. The role focuses on protecting cash flow, reducing debtor days and minimising bad debt exposure through effective collections and customer relations.

You will manage the group debtors ledger, escalate overdue accounts, and collaborate with branches to secure payments while upholding commercial relationships across the Group.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years0s credit control experience.
• Experience working with legal advisers on debt recovery.
• Experience attending court to pursue or defend customer debt.
• Excellent telephone and written communication skills.
• Advanced Excel: PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the group debtors ledger and escalate overdue accounts.
• Work with branches and customers to resolve disputes and secure payment.
• Influence processes, identify weaknesses in terms and conditions, and develop improvements.
• Support, train and coordinate colleagues across branches.
• Maintain the daily Out of Terms report and follow up with local teams.
• Contact customers by telephone, email and letters; initiate recovery actions when required.
• Manage bad and doubtful debt register and respond to audit queries.
