This is a permanent role with hybrid working 3‑1 days in the office / working from home.

Job Description
Credit Controller

The Credit Controller will be responsible for managing the company's credit control processes, focusing on both internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures the timely collection of outstanding payments, resolution of account issues, and maintains healthy cash flow across the company. Reporting to the Credit Control & Reconciliations Manager, the Credit Controller will play a critical role in minimising financial risk and supporting the company's financial health through effective debt recovery and reconciliations. The postholder may be required to undertake alternative tasks from time to time as requested by their manager.

  1. Credit Control Management: Manage the full credit control process for clients, ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments and reducing aged debt.
  2. Debt Recovery: Proactively contact clients and internal teams to resolve overdue accounts, negotiating payment terms when necessary and escalating issues where required.
  3. Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts, ensuring accurate allocation of payments and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with the wider finance team.

  5. External Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with clients and tenants to ensure a clear understanding of account statuses and prompt resolution of payment issues.
  6. Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Manager on the status of outstanding debts, credit control performance, and any risk concerns.
  7. Cash Flow Support: Work closely with the team to support cash flow forecasting and ensure that collections align with company targets.
  8. Compliance: Ensure all credit control activities adhere to company policies and relevant legal regulations, maintaining thorough records for audit purposes.
  9. Other tasks & responsibilities: Attending to any other tasks and responsibilities from time‑to‑time as requested by your line manager.
The Successful Applicant
Essential Qualifications or Experience:
  • Proven experience in credit control or debt recovery, ideally within real estate, facilities management, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of credit control processes, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with experience managing both internal and external stakeholder relationships.
Desirable Qualifications or Experience:
  • Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of financial regulations and debt recovery best practices.
  • A finance‑related qualification or certification (e.g., CICM or equivalent).
What's on Offer

The successful candidate will be paid between 35,000 to 40,000 per annum.
