BaxterStorey in Coventry is hiring a Commis Chef to join our culinary team. You will prepare and cook dishes to our recipes and standards, while ensuring food safety at all times and keeping your station organized and clean.

The role offers training and development opportunities within a supportive, inclusive environment. You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, collaborate with the head chef on menu development, and contribute to a high-quality service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation – prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards; ensure food safety
• Station management – oversee production at your station and keep area clean
• Quality control – maintain high quality, presentation and taste
• Team collaboration – communicate effectively with all team members
• Menu development – collaborate with head chef to develop and taste new recipes
• Cleaning and maintenance – keep kitchen and equipment in good order
