Job summary

BaxterStorey in Maidstone is seeking a Commis Chef to join our team. The role focuses on food preparation, station management, quality control and collaboration with colleagues to maintain high standards.

You will work 32 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with on-site parking and a range of benefits including 20 days holiday, birthday off, volunteering days, grandparent leave, 26 weeks maternity leave, and free meals on shift.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Commis Chef or real passion for food.
• Knowledge of cooking techniques and cuisines.
• Basic food safety and sanitation understanding.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation – prepare and cook dishes per recipes and Chef Manager standards.
• Station Management – oversee production at your station and maintain area cleanliness.
• Quality Control – maintain high quality in all food handled, with presentation in mind.
• Team Collaboration – communicate effectively with all team members.
• Cleaning and Maintenance – keep kitchen organized and equipment in good order.
