Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking Cover Supervisors in the Southampton area to support secondary schools. If you are a recent graduate or aspiring teacher, this role offers hands-on classroom experience during term-time with fixed hours.

You will supervise KS3/KS4 students, deliver prepared work, and gain insight into classroom management while building confidence for PGCE/SCITT programs.

Qualifications

• Degree level or higher education qualification.
• Recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply!
• Experience involving young people (tutoring, youth work, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) is required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise secondary school students ( KS3 & KS4 ) across various subjects during teacher absences.
• Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment.
• Deliver prepared work set by the department and keep students on task.
• Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on progress and behaviour.
• Uphold school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding at all times.
