Randstad Education in Southampton seeks enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to join multiple secondary schools across the area. Ideal for recent graduates or aspiring teachers, this role offers hands-on classroom experience and a clear route into teaching careers.

Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm during term time, with competitive pay (£100-£130 per day). Applicants need a degree and an Enhanced DBS; no lesson planning required, just supervision and student support.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree level or higher.
• Experience: Tutoring, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring or volunteering.
• Skills: Confidence, strong communication, resilience and a proactive attitude.
• Requirements: Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supervise secondary school students (Key Stages 3 & 4) across various subjects during teacher absences.
• Maintain a positive, orderly and productive classroom environment where students feel supported.
• Deliver prepared work set by the department and ensure students stay on task.
• Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on student progress and behaviour.
• Uphold school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding at all times.
