Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools in the Southampton area. This role offers steady, term-time hours (8:30 AM – 3:30 PM) with a clear path to teaching avenues such as PGCE or SCITT.

You will supervise classes, deliver prepared work, and help maintain a positive, focused learning environment. Ideal for recent graduates and aspiring teachers, the role provides hands-on experience in a diverse range of Hampshire schools, with weekly pay and ongoing support

Qualifications

• Education: Degree level or higher education qualification. Recent graduates are strongly encouraged to apply!
• Experience: Practical experience working with young people, such as tutoring, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, or volunteering.
• Skills: Confidence, strong communication abilities, resilience, and a positive, proactive attitude.
• Requirements: An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for a new one).

Responsibilities

• Supervise secondary school students (Key Stages 3 & 4) across various subjects during teacher absences.
• Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment where students feel supported.
• Deliver prepared work set by the department and ensure students stay on task.
• Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on student progress and behaviour.
• Uphold school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding at all times.
