Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in Southampton area secondary schools. This role is ideal for graduates aiming to become teachers, offering hands-on classroom experience and a pathway into PGCE/SCITT programs.

Responsibilities include supervising classes, delivering set work, and maintaining a positive learning environment. DBS via Update Service is required or willingness to apply. Term-time hours run 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

• Degree-level or higher education qualification.
• Experience with young people through tutoring, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring or volunteering.
• Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service (or willing to apply for a new one).

Responsibilities

• Supervise Key Stages 3 & 4 students across various subjects during teacher absences.
• Maintain a positive, orderly, and productive classroom environment.
• Deliver prepared work set by the department and ensure students stay on task.
• Collect completed work and provide constructive feedback on progress and behaviour.
• Uphold school policies regarding behaviour management and safeguarding.
