Cover Supervisor - Mainstream Secondary School, Clapham

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school based in Clapham. This is a long-term opportunity, working Monday to Friday during term time only. This role is ideal for someone with previous classroom cover experience who thrives in a dynamic school environment. You will play a key role in ensuring lessons run smoothly, supporting students of all abilities, and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. The school is committed to professional development, offering excellent training opportunities and clear pathways for career progression. Experience with managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with additional needs, including SEN, will be highly valued.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising classes during the absence of teaching staff and ensuring students remain on task with their work.
  • Adapting and delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects and year groups.
  • Supporting and engaging students with different learning needs, including those with SEN, to promote positive outcomes.
  • Encouraging good behaviour, maintaining classroom discipline, and responding appropriately to any challenges that arise.
  • Acting as a positive role model and building strong, respectful relationships with students.
  • Managing classroom resources and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and organised learning environment.
  • Providing feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress.
  • Supporting with additional school activities where needed, contributing to the wider school community.
Profile / Qualifications

Experience with managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with additional needs, including SEN, will be highly valued.
