Cover Supervisor - Mainstream Secondary School, Clapham

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a thriving secondary school based in Clapham. This is a long-term opportunity, working Monday to Friday during term time only. This role is ideal for someone with previous classroom cover experience who thrives in a dynamic school environment. You will play a key role in ensuring lessons run smoothly, supporting students of all abilities, and helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Experience with managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with additional needs, including SEN, will be highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes during the absence of teaching staff and ensuring students remain on task with their work.
• Adapting and delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Supporting and engaging students with different learning needs, including those with SEN, to promote positive outcomes.
• Encouraging good behaviour, maintaining classroom discipline, and responding appropriately to any challenges that arise.
• Acting as a positive role model and building strong, respectful relationships with students.
• Managing classroom resources and ensuring a safe, welcoming, and organised learning environment.
• Providing feedback to teaching staff on student engagement and progress.
• Supporting with additional school activities where needed, contributing to the wider school community.

Profile / Qualifications

Experience with managing challenging behaviour and supporting students with additional needs, including SEN, will be highly valued.
