Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking Cover Supervisors for day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities across Cannock and the surrounding areas in Staffordshire. Successful candidates will supervise classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-set work and maintain a positive learning environment.

You will need strong classroom and behaviour management, experience with secondary pupils (KS3/KS4) and excellent communication. A flexible, proactive approach and safeguarding commitment are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with children or young people in an educational or similar setting.
• Confidence managing classes of secondary-aged pupils across KS3 and KS4.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow pre-set lesson plans and instructions.
• Proactive, reliable and flexible with a safeguarding focus.

We are looking to recruit Cover Supervisors for a variety of day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities, with the potential for permanent positions for the right candidates. The successful Cover Supervisor will supervise whole classes during teacher absences, deliver pre-set work, manage behaviour effectively and ensure students remain engaged with their learning.

The successful Cover Supervisor will have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting
• Confidence managing classes of secondary-aged pupils across KS3 and KS4
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to follow pre-set lesson plans and instructions
• A proactive, reliable and flexible approach with a commitment to safeguarding
