Job summary

Brook Street is seeking an Admin Officer (Criminal Fines Collection & Enforcement) in Port Talbot. The role is full-time with training in-office, then hybrid (3 days working from home, 2 days in the office).

Expect a starting rate of £12.86 per hour, rising to £13.25 after 12 weeks, with parking on-site in the town centre. Typical hours are 09:00–17:00, Monday to Friday, and duties include handling admin tasks, court bundles, and inbound calls for Courts and Tribunals.

Qualifications

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly and confidently.
  • Empathy and understanding, with a calm manner when handling sensitive enquiries.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced contact centre environment.
  • Good Microsoft skills (comfortable using standard office tools).
  • Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

  • Support with general admin duties, filing, updating systems, gathering court bundles for judges to review (note spelling).
  • Answer and manage inbound calls for Courts and Tribunals.
  • Support customers who are often in difficult and stressful circumstances, using a professional, empathetic approach.
  • Liaise regularly with court and tribunal staff at processing sites across the UK.
  • Work scheduled shifts to maintain service coverage between 09:00-17:00, Monday to Friday.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement, using tools and techniques to help raise service standards.
