Overview

Join Our Team as a Counsellor Supervisor! Are you passionate about supporting the mental health of students in an educational environment? We have a temporary opportunity for a Counsellor Supervisor to join our Mental Health Team at the Hillingdon campus. Location: Hillingdon, Greater London. Contract Type: Temporary (3 months, with the possibility to apply for a permanent role). Salary: £22.20 per hour. Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM. Work Environment: Fully onsite.

About the Role

As part of our Student Services Department, you will play a pivotal role in providing supervision to our trainees, enhancing their skills while ensuring top-notch support for our students and staff facing mental health challenges. You will engage in both online and face-to-face supervision, group settings, and individual counselling sessions as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Supervision & Support: Conduct face-to-face and online counselling supervision for trainees, determining session frequency and structure. Offer individual counselling to students and staff based on availability. Provide clinical supervision to associate and trainee counsellors, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with the Wellbeing, Inclusion and Support team for effective referrals. Participate in training, team meetings, and advisory groups to foster a supportive environment. Promote our Wellbeing services by liaising with external professional bodies.
  • Programme Development: Develop and supervise issue-based and therapeutic group workshops for students. Contribute to the growth of the Counselling Service through project management and training initiatives.
  • Crisis Management: Respond to urgent cases with risk assessments in line with our protocols. Provide referrals and support for students and staff facing emotional, psychological, or mental health issues.

  • An individual who adheres to the BACP Ethical Framework and maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to assess risk and manage urgent situations effectively.
