Job summary

A global consultancy firm in England is seeking a Cost Manager to enhance their project delivery in the Power sector. The successful candidate will manage contracts and project costs, ensuring financial accuracy and collaboration with clients. The role supports hybrid working, allowing for a flexible work-life balance. Ideal candidates will have a relevant degree and experience in contract management, particularly with NEC contracts.

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
  • Current or working towards professional membership with an appropriate body.
  • Experience with Contract Management (preferably NEC3, Option C, or NEC4).

Job description

Owing to continued demand and our ambitious plans for growth, Turner & Townsend are looking to recruit Cost Managers with a proven track record and experience across the Power sector. Your experience of delivering projects in Distribution, Transmission, Renewables or other technologies will be key in delivering on our clients' ambitions. As a Cost Manager at Turner & Townsend, you will have the opportunity to work with high-profile clients, develop your consultancy skills, and diversify your sector experience.

We support hybrid working and embrace a forward-thinking approach. Part-time applications will also be considered. The role requires being in client offices 2-3 days a week in Ipswich or Sizewell.

Job Objectives:
  1. Operate at a suitably qualified & experienced Cost Management level.
  2. Administer various contracts in line with project objectives and policies.
  3. Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion within budget.
  4. Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and correct applications.
  5. Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage project deliverables, KPIs, and objectives, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering.
  6. Manage contract changes effectively, ensuring projects stay within governance and adopt best practices.
  7. Improve forecast and budget accuracy, with SOX control responsibilities adhered to where applicable.
