Conveyancing Legal Assistant - Residential Conveyancing - Stourbridge

A well-established residential conveyancing team in Stourbridge is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join its fast-paced, client-focused department. This role is ideal for someone with a background in property law support who thrives in a professional, collaborative environment.

About the Role

The Residential Conveyancing Legal Assistant will provide essential support to conveyancers, handling a wide range of administrative and case-related tasks. This position is critical in ensuring smooth transactions for both sales and purchases of residential properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Taking client instructions and verifying identification, source of funds and gift deposits
  • Preparing and issuing sales contracts
  • Requesting mortgage redemption figures and advance funds
  • Translating dictation and drafting documents such as Transfer Deeds
  • Responding to enquiries related to Freehold and Leasehold properties
  • Drafting sales completion statements and arranging searches
  • Updating clients, agents and internal teams on case progress
  • Setting up and coordinating completions
  • Completing post‑completion administrative tasks
The Person

The ideal candidate will be confident, organised and able to work accurately under pressure.

Essential Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a conveyancing legal secretary or assistant
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with dictation and document drafting
  • Excellent keyboarding and word‑processing skills
  • Professional, friendly and able to maintain confidentiality
