Job summary

ukme is seeking a Control Room Operator to monitor CCTV, manage access, and report incidents for the estate. The role requires security experience, SIA CCTV licence, and strong IT skills. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure safety and compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

The position focuses on professional conduct, confidentiality, and reliable coverage during absences. On-site duties will support client security operations and incident response.

Qualifications

• Experience in a security capacity, e.g. control room or CCTV monitoring.
• Experience in providing security surveillance using CCTV.
• Highly computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• Possession of a valid SIA CCTV licence.

Responsibilities

• Property Security Monitoring: monitor CCTV and respond to breaches.
• Incident Reporting: document and report incidents using established procedures.
• Access Control: issue security keys and passes to staff and visitors.
• Policy Adherence: comply with Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
• Standard Operating Procedures: follow SOPs for all tasks.
• Professional Conduct: maintain confidentiality and a professional demeanour.
• Collaboration: work with colleagues and supervisors to serve the client.
• Operational Support: cover colleagues during absences and assist as needed.
• Any tasks requested by management within the scope of the position.

Control Room Operator Key Responsibilities:

• Property Security Monitoring: Always ensure the security of the estate by monitoring CCTV surveillance and responding appropriately to any breaches.
• Incident Reporting: Accurately document and report all incidents using the established procedures and maintain proper decorum.
• Access Control: Manage the issuance of security keys and passes to staff and visitors as required.
• Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all company policies, including Health and Safety regulations as mandated by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
• Standard Operating Procedures: Follow the standard operating procedures for all tasks and responsibilities.
• Professional Conduct: Maintain a professional demeanour while performing all duties, with a focus on confidentiality.
• Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to deliver an efficient and effective service to the client.
• Operational Support: Provide coverage for colleagues during absences and perform any additional duties as requested by the management.
• Any tasks or responsibilities as requested by management within the scope of the position.

Knowledge and Skills:
